At the TRHT Center, our overall approach entails partners and collaborators from different disciplinary fields working together to create and apply conceptual and methodological innovations that both incorporate and transcend discipline-specific perspectives. Our key lenses are the arts, sciences (biological and social), and humanities. We harness the accessible power of the arts to communicate, educate, inspire, and heal. The biological and social sciences enable us to expose and address the roots of race and racism and their lived impacts at the individual, interpersonal, and institutional levels. The anticipated ultimate outcomes of our work – social equity and justice – are grounded in the humanities. Together the arts, sciences, and humanities provide a scholarly foundation for our work and catalyze personal and collective transformation.
